Choose Your Klein ISD Graduation Plan

You will create your graduation plan as an 8th grader during course selection prior to entering 9th grade. Each student chooses their Foundation High School Graduation plan with a distinguished level of achievement & 1 Endorsement (26 Total Credits). Use this information to guide you through choosing your courses, pathway, & completing your Klein ISD High School 4-Year Graduation Plan.

Performance Acknowledgement

Students may earn a performance acknowledgment on their transcript for outstanding performance if they meet the state's qualifying criteria by

  • Successfully completing dual credit courses
  • Demonstrating bilingualism and biliteracy
  • Earning qualifying scores on the PSAT, ACT’s Plan, SAT or ACT, Advanced Placement tests, or International Baccalaureate exam
  • Obtaining a nationally or internationally recognized business or industry certification or license

Distinguished Level of Achievement

Every student chooses a High School Graduation plan with a distinguished level of achievement.

By graduating at a distinguished level of achievement students are eligible for

  • Top 10% automatic admissions at Texas public universities
  • Certain financial aid including the TEXAS Grant Program & the Texas Educational Opportunity Grant Program (Must be financially qualified)

End-of-Course Exams (EOC)

STAAR EOC exams are state mandated tests given during the final weeks of a course. In addition to meeting graduation course requirements, students are required to pass a total of 5 EOCs throughout their high school years to earn a diploma. Those 5 EOCs are given when a student takes English I and II, Biology, Algebra I and U.S. History courses.

*A plan with a distinguished level of achievement must consist of 4 Math Credits (including Algebra II) and 4 Science Credits (including Biology).

**A student may graduate without earning an endorsement if, after 10th grade and with their counselors guidance, parents sign a form allowing the student to omit the requirement.
